MORE INFO
Salvia pratensis, open pollinated
Wild Flower.
Beautiful perennial with intense purple flowers, ideal as gap filler.
Very popular with wild bees and bumblebees. When planted in a dry, sunny spot, this plant is completely undemanding and fits perfectly into flower meadows and natural gardens.
Pruning the flowers after they have wilted encourages a second bloom in autumn.
It looks good in the vase and can also be used for seasoning food – a little milder in taste than the normal sage.
