Direct sowing is easiest. Borage germinates and grows quickly. It also readily self-seeds if allowed to flower.

Direct sowing into the bed: From April to July.

Prepare the bed, loosen the soil, remove weeds.

seeds1–2 cm deepput in the ground.

Water carefully.

After rising on30 – 40 cm distanceisolate.

CARE

Water regularly but moderately – avoid excessive moisture.

No additional fertilization required, grows well in normal garden soil.

Stems are brittle – choose a sheltered spot.

Remove seed heads in good time to prevent self-seeding.

FLOWERING TIME

Blooms from June to September with striking blue flowers that are edible and attract many bees.
